Kilmacthomas & Dungarvan Shotokan Karate Clubs were established in October 2008,with the aim of promoting & Teaching Traditional Shotokan Karate , Karate is taught by quailified Instructors who have represented their country both Nationally and Internationally, Students learn self defence,discipline,respect,gain confidence,fair play,and meet new friends in a safe ,structured and fun enviroment.
K.D.S.K.C. organise events,trips,seminars and competitions regularly to benefit its members ,and use the internet to advertise ,promote and benefit its members in their pursuit of excellence in their Karate-ka.
K.D.S.K.C. Chief Instructor Sensei John Kelly has been involved in shotokan Karate since the early eighties,and has competed many times Nationally and Internationally to great success,Now Sensei Kelly a 4th Dan Black Belt (Yondan) passes on his vast experiance to his students,with the aim that they will have as many years of enjoyment in competing and making so many friends in their travels as he has.
Sensei Kelly works as a painter & Decorator,he also qualified as an aerobics & weight training instructor with the Fittness Institute of Ireland in 1989, which greatly benifits his method of coaching and training.
KDSKC is affiliated to U-kai (united karate association international)
Sensei Kelly travels regularly nationally and internationally to train with top International instructors to gain ,develope ,learn and pass on as much knowledge to his students. Check out links and world wide dojo on www.unitedkai.com
KDSKC is open to all ages from 6 years to adult,If you just want to learn self defence , get fit or to compete in competition and grade towards Black Belt.
